“One of the Uk’s Freshest & Most Exciting acts” – Carl Cox
2016 was a year of great success for one of electronic music’s most innovative live artists, Saytek. The North London-based producer is renowned for his unique ability to bring his widely acclaimed studio productions – which feature a unique blend of deep techno & tough house grooves and dubby, acidic hues – into the live arena. This ability is exemplified by his Facebook Live Jams which have received views well in excess of one million; and views for individual videos often running into the hundreds of thousands.
His ‘Machine Jams’ live album received global critical and public acclaim; going on to become one of Carl Cox’s favourite albums of the year. Cox played six tracks from the album in heavy rotation at international gigs for six months; including his final season at Space Ibiza, Output Brooklyn, Radio 1 Essential Mix, Hyte Berlin NYE and various festivals.
Following his hugely successful 2016, Saytek’s 2017 began with a remix request for rising artist Golden Boy’s track ‘Egyptian Lover’ from Jamie Jones & Lee Foss – the minds behind the revered label Hot Creations. The remix was one of the first releases on their new imprint ‘Emerald City’ and was released in March.
Two brand new, freshly constructed live jams – ‘Doppelganger’, ‘a pressure filled slice of driving Techno’ and ‘Revolutionize’, which ‘glows with its lush melodic hook’, have been snapped up by the legendary Kevin Saunderson for an EP set to be released on his KMS label – which is now celebrating its 30th year!
Considering his impressive social media presence and statistics, it is no surprise that Saytek has accomplished similar success on the global live circuit over the last few years – culminating in him becoming one of the electronic music scene’s most in-demand live acts.
He has played shows in Ibiza – at The Zoo Project, The Terrace of Space (including their closing party), regular shows at Fabric London; as well as being fully embraced by Berlin’s underground scene: performing regularly at Tresor, Golden Gate, Salon – Zur Wilder Renate, Chalet, Sisyphos, Kosmonaught, Ipse and more. Saytek’s tour schedule is varied and relentless; with gigs at some of the best clubs and festivals in countries including, but not limited to Canada, Croatia, France, The Czech Republic, Italy, Belgium, Poland, Spain, Netherlands and Finland.
Other avid Saytek supporters in the last year alone include B Traits on BBC Radio 1, Derrick May, Ryan Elliot, Laurent Garnier, De La Swing, Nicole Moudaber, Dubfire, Danny Rampling, Pyscatron and Roger Sanchez.
He has garnered acclaim the world over with his improvised live shows that see him using a myriad of kit; both digital and analogue. Saytek is a master of musical technology with a unique energy and ear for melody who knows exactly how to make each piece of studio kit dance to his visionary ideas and bring his unique musical ideals to fruition
He writes produces and performs everything live, using a variety of equipment including Elektron Analog 4 & Analog Rtym, Ableton, Korg: Monotron Delay, Kaos Pad & Volca: Bass, Sample, Keys, Novation Impulse 25, Native Instruments Maschine and lots more.
Saytek’s musical output is prolific and includes EPs and live albums on his own Cubism label, along with 12″ and digital releases on labels such as Liebe*Detail, Soma, Bedrock, My Favorite Robot Records, Wiggle, Monique Musique, Fabric (London Club), Golden Gate Club Records, My Favourite Freaks, KMS and many more. His work has graced the playlists of the world’s most elite and eminent DJs including Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Steve Lawler and Marcel Dettman, among many. Saytek was nominated for 2013 Best Live Act by DJ Mag; with Mixmag awarding Album Of The Month in the same year.
Topping off an impressive 12 months, Saytek has just signed 13 live jam tracks to Darren Emerson’s (Underworld) Detone label.
“Deep metallic chords, guttural sub-bass and raving synths; New Jersey organs, Amazonian chants and gurgling acidic syrup all washthrough a frenzy of smoke and lasers… this guy just keeps getting better and better.” – 9/10 DJ Mag
